News from the web, mobile, software and web applications ...

The free mobile web browser from Mozilla is now available in alpha.

In terms of mobile web browser, more and more quality products are available on the market, OperaMini (java), Opera Mobile, Safari (on iPhone), Skyfire, ... All these products have already proven themselves and we 'll see if this new Fennec or not to match competitors ...

To see what that gave Fennec, I tried on a HTC Touch HD, it works pretty well although it takes a little time adjusting to get used to using menus "side". To the left of the screen you have the thumbnails of previously visited sites and the right management favorite browser options (below) and access to functions "previous page" and "next page".

It works properly and the browser is rather fluid but that does not convince me as to change my habits with Opera Mobile 9.5. This project is still to be followed very closely ...

The application is compatible with mobile touchscreen running Windows Mobile as the HTC HD but it has primarily been tested by Mozilla on a Touch Pro, as you can see on the video below:

If you want to try Fennec, a. Cab (about 9.10 MB) is available by following this link (see also the announcement of Mozilla). If you have trouble installing the software, please visit our section dedicated to the installation of applications on Pocket PC.

Enjoy with the Fennec mobile browser :)
