By Keroin Sunday, 06 December 2009 under Computers, Video GamesSince early December, Colin Mc Rae Dirt 2 is available on PC (as well as on other platforms XBox, PS3, ...), and this is the version proposed by the publisher Codemaster that we tested.
After a first episode of Dirt, released in 2007 which had not packed the crowds because, if the graphics were rather successful, the playability and feel of the road is not very good, as Codemasters puts it in a sequence that is much more impressive ...

If like me you experience lags incomprehensible menus in the game (not during races) and you have an ATI graphics card, you must download and install the latest Ati drivers (a hotfix is dedicated to the game) that are designed specifically for avoid problems with Dirt 2. This worked very well for me and the game runs with "very substantive" at about 60 fps
.
Here are our three videos that will help us gain insight into the driving experience and the beauty of the landscape:
The replay of a race-type "shooting star" (go from one point to another as quickly as possible without using the co-pilot and with just the information from GPS), in the American desert in Utah behind the wheel 'a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X
Here is the replay of an event Rally driving a Subaru Impreza WRC in the Moroccan desert. Much of the video mode is "view from inside the car" to see the quality of detail and have an idea of the sensations provided by this mode of conduct:
And finally the video of a race RallyRaid with one of the many 4 × 4 proposed by the game Although much slower, the races are not without difficulties as it is difficult to drive in the mud bumps, any lapse in concentration will connect you directly with a tree and another railing ... This race is in the Malaysian jungle:
For all fans of rally, no doubt this game will become a reference but not everything is perfect in the kingdom of Dirt 2 because he is short of concrete road races (only) which would have made, I believe the Rally ultimate game. Some races offer in effect an alternating gravel / sand / asphalt, which increases the difficulty with alternating "grip and handling of the car but no test is not exclusively road (apparently).
For those who prefer circuits "in hard, you can still see the other reference publisher Codemasters, Race Driver GRID, released last year, which is exclusively dedicated to racing on circuits.

Enjoy with Dirt 2 and ... vroom vroom ![]()
